Test on Wednesday 9-17-08. Here is a focused test review. If you can do these problems you can do the test. Don’t freak out, relax, study the review and problems like them in the text and in your notes. Use the resource cd from your text to find similar questions. If you need help you can email, call or comment on this post. Remember there is a math tutor on campus now on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 to 4:30. I will be at class early if you need some help as well.
Archive for the “MT 150” CategoryI don’t know if any of my MT150 students are still watching but I have posted final grades. I would like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed class this semester and I hope you did as well. I also hope that you were able to take away at least one thing that you can apply to your life. It doesn’t have to be math related or school related I just hope you came away from our time together and say to yourself, “Self, that McClendon guy wasn’t that bad, I actually learned a thing or two!” With that being said I wish all of the students from MT150 a safe and happy summer and the best of luck in all that you do. Scott Just a quick update on the final grades in MT150. I have yet to receive the grades back for the final so the suspense must go on!

MT 150 Test 4 on Wednesday 4-23-08Posted by: Mr. McClendon in MT 150, tags: :Final MT150:, :Test 4 MT150:Test 4 is upon us and shortly there after is the final, which is Monday May 5th. Below is last years test 4 and it will be somewhat similar to this years test 4. mt-150-test-4-11-14-07.doc Just as a quick reminder, we will be using our calculators heavily on Monday so be sure to bring it with you! We are going to be talking about matrices and how to use them in solving systems of linear equations. You will get to know how to input matrices into your calculator and use the row reduced echelon form function, rref(, of the calculator. Search Google for the above topics or read the next sections in the book to get ahead of the curve! Below is the answer key to test 3. I hope you feel like you did well on the test! Thanks to yours truly the last problem on the test had a typo and therefore won’t be counted against you or for you. Unless you realized that it must have been a typo and corrected it and then proceeded to get the correct answer! If you come about 15 minutes early to class I will give back your test and answer questions that you may have . If that doesn’t float your boat, you can stay a few moments after class with questions. We will be covering 4.5 and parts of 4.6 if possible and I have a quiz to give out (it will be due next Wed.). Its not a video but it is the answer key to Quiz 4. quiz-4-answer-key.pdf As I promised posted below is the answer key to test 2. If you check out the key and still find that you have a question, post a comment or email me and I will post a video explanation. As a heads up for Mondays class, try to search Google for logarithms to find a basic explanation of what they are( don’t worry we are still going to go over them in class if you don’t find much). Also try to polish up on your exponent properties that are in the book in section P.2 ( the blue box on page 12) or on the bottom of page335. I have Test 2 graded and have the statistics to go along with it. The test scores are 19, 26, 27, 30, 34, 35, 45, 46, 50, 66, 67, 71, 72, 73, 73, 74, 75, 76, 81, 82, 82, 86, 89, 95, 96, 97. The Average was a 64 with a Standard Deviation of 24. The Median was 72.5. The First Quartile was 45.25 , the Third Quartile was a 81.75. Look for a previous posts to see what each value stands for if you are not for sure. I will pass back the test and post a solutions guide to it but we will not be discussing it in class due to time constrants. If you have questions about the test please feel free to ask them after or before class. Remember tomorrow (3-5-08) is test night! The first of two notebook checks will be tomorrow as well. I had promised a video explanation of the quiz 3 but had some technical difficulties so only the first few problems are explained. If you are having any questions I will try to be at class at about 4:00 to answer questions. I also found a good site. It’s like a calculator for solving algebra problems. Link to QuickMath I will try to post the homework answer keys tomorrow so stay tuned! |
